Driving Sustainability: A Snapshot of Transmed’s Energy Efficiency Initiatives

Through innovative technology and efficient resource management, we made significant strides
in reducing our energy and fuel consumption. Here is a closer look at our recent initiatives:

  • Optimizing Energy Use with VFD Technology at Transmed UAE DIP Warehouse

We have installed a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) at our UAE DIP Ammonia Plant to
enhance energy efficiency and equipment performance. This device adjusts motor speed based
on real-time load requirements, ensuring that energy consumption precisely matches operational
demand. By eliminating unnecessary energy consumption, the VFD not only reduces waste but
also minimizes wear and tear on equipment—helping to extend the lifespan of our machinery.
This initiative is projected to save 2,400 kWh of electricity every month.

  • Rethinking resources in Transmed Lebanon

At our Chweifat warehouse, we took a strategic step to improve energy efficiency by replacing
an oversized, underused generator with a right-sized model that better matches our operational
demands. This change led to a 20% reduction in fuel consumption during December and January
compared to the previous year—saving 7,334 liters of fuel and preventing the emission of 19
tons of CO₂. By aligning energy supply with actual usage, we not only reduced waste but also
    reduced our impact on environment.

  • Real-Time Energy Monitoring at Al Qouz Warehouse

We’ve implemented a real-time energy monitoring system in our Al Qouz warehouse. This
advanced monitoring system tracks energy consumption at asset level, providing detailed, real-
time insights into our consumption patterns, allowing us to make immediate adjustments and
optimize efficiency. Since its installation, the system has driven a 9% reduction in electricity
consumption compared to the same period last year. This reduction has not only helped lower our
operational costs but has also played a key role in minimizing our impact on environment. By
using less electricity, we’ve been able to cut our carbon emissions by 46 tons, further advancing
    our sustainability efforts.
