Historic visit to Isigny Ste Mère

Our top management has just returned from an unforgettable and truly historic visit to Isigny St Mere, one of Transmed Foodservice’s closest supplier-partners. Their journey took them to the hometown of Isigny-sur-Mer, nestled in the heart of the picturesque Normandy region.

During their visit, they had the incredible opportunity to witness the time-honored process of butter-making, a tradition that has been upheld since Isigny St Mere’s establishment in 1909. It was fascinating to see how the company continues to adhere to authentic and traditional methods, ensuring the highest quality butter. From rich creams to delectable caramels, they also had the pleasure of indulging in some of the company’s newest products, including delightful pairings with ice cream.

Prior to their visit, they already recognized Isigny butter as the best on the market. However, after experiencing the craftsmanship and dedication firsthand, they are now not just convinced, but confident that Isigny butter stands as the most luxurious and indulgent butter in the world!

On a lighter note, their journey uncovered an intriguing historical connection. They learned that the ancestral roots of the “Disney” family, bearing the family name of Walt Disney, originated from the charming village of Isigny-sur-Mer. Their journey led them from Isigny-sur-Mer to England and eventually to the United States, and it’s now quite intuitive to see the connection: “De Isigny” translates to “Disney.” What a fascinating piece of history connecting the magic of Isigny with the enchantment of Disney!
